CO2 and Carbon Footprint

CO2 offset - shipping

Online business and the connected shipping is a has a negative impact on the global climate. We are aware of our responsibility.

With every order sent, we support two initiatives to offset our carbon footprint.

The compensation that we are paying with every shipment is calculated based on the weight and distance of each shipment and is automatically paid on a monthly basis.

Why cans?

Despite the manufacturing process, there are many arguments in favor of using the can.

The can is like a small barrel: keeping out all light and, when properly filled, contains virtually no residual oxygen. This is particularly important for our hop forward beers and increases shelf stability.

Additionally, the evolution of the can has continued to improve:

In contrast, the environmental balance of the beverage can has improved continuously in recent years. Beverage cans are 99 percent recycled in Germany, the wall thickness is now thinner than that of a human hair and as packaging, the can is a real “economy can”: of 100 percent total weight, only 3 percent is packaging and 97 percent is product. This is particularly important from a sustainability perspective. “ (Source: www.verpackungswirtschaft.de zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltstrategien von Juni 2020.)

Advantages at a glance

Fully closed - no ingress of oxygen - no escape of carbonic acid - for longer freshness.

With a wall thickness of 0.06 millimeters it is thinner than a human hair, only gaining stabilty by it's content. .

12.5 grams is the weight of a 0.33 L aluminum can. A full can is 3% packaging and 97% product. A full 0.33l bottle weighs almost twice as much.

.

Chilled quickly - cans are chilled quickly. That saves energy.

Stackable - Thanks to the perfect can shape, a truck transports twice the amount of liquid than a truck with bottles. This saves CO2.

100% opaque - Protects the quality of light-sensitive drinks

99% recyclable - cans are completely and infinitely recyclable without any loss of quality.

Permanent material - because metal is a permanent material, it is only used - but not consumed.
